New Movie - Dual Arms Verbatim P1 (14 min)

Posted by RPGsrok - June 20th, 2010

After 2 and a half years of work, I've finally completed my fourteen minute masterpiece Dual Arms Verbatim. If your in the mood for a sci-fi story about espionage and deception in a world of rising and falling snow, please have a look and tell me what you think.

The consensus seems to be that the story's a touch convoluted and some of the sound needs work (if anyone knows how to code subtitles, I'd really appreciate it if you could enlighten me) but many people have enjoyed the world itself, and I hope you guys will too. Enjoy!

That was pretty good. I'm looking forward to the next one.

Glad you liked it.

Hey, I'm pretty sure I've figured out a way to code subtitles in your flash. I'm guessing it runs across multiple scenes right? If so that's the tricky bit, bit never-the-less I'm pretty sure I could provide you with the code to code subtitles in AS2. If you're interested then PM.

I'm skeptical of any simple method, but thanks for the effort! I'll be sure to look into it.

As for the review I left, I'll take back the part about the actor recommendations (I was just trying to help). However, you may want to get a voice director seeing that I heard that you already recorded the voices for part two. Not to mention I don't mind anime-style flash cartoons as long as the story is good and have some thought put into the animation (which you have done). Plus, I really dig those mechanical designs you did for this and previous parts.

I understand you guys are trying to help - I certainly don't take offense (and I hope my justifications don't offend you guys). Honestly, I'm not sure what the point of a voice director is when I'm not really able to record with most of these people, and as you noticed, the voices are already recorded and I've lost contact with a good few of the actors T_T

I'm glad you liked the mechanical designs, and it is good to know someone took a look at the other parts (please don't judge the animation - I was young >_<). Hopefully I'll be able to upload a new version of Verbatim soon which will include some concept art in the menu. We can continue this discussion via pm if you'd like, but either way, please keep in touch.
